1/4" X 40' Winch Rope is a great upgrade rope for the 2500 and 3000lb winches that had 3/16 rope, 50 foot of 1/4 rope is to much for the spool so the 40' fits perfect for the 3500 and 4000 lbs winches you can fit 50' of 1/4" rope.
